Explanation of our Book Condition Coding
- N - New. Newly purchased from a company
- UE – Used Excellent. Almost as good as new. But since they are purchased 2nd hand, this item may have a remainder mark, overstock mark, or may be even be new with a school name inside.
- UG – Used Good. Used book with no more than 2 dog ears on the corners of the book. Could have a slightly faded cover, or some minor shelf scratches. May have some minor marking, but nothing that inhibits use of book.
- UF – Used Fair. Used, could have scuffed cover, torn pages, minor highlighting, small amount of writing, Teacher’s notes in margin of pages, or a small amount of cover tears. These books are not available online, but you are welcome to contact the store and request the availability of a UF book.
- UP – Used Poor. This book is on it’s last days of use. Will have some writing, wrinkled pages, or torn pages inside book. Will most likely have a torn cover or other major damage to the cover. These books are not available online, but you are welcome to contact the store and request the availability of a UF book.
If you are not concerned about condition, and more concerned about price, you are welcome to contact the store and request the availability of a UF or UP book.
Although we have tried to grade our books as fair as possible, it is still hard to grade all the different types of used books out on the market. With only 5 grading possibilities, books that are purchased may be better than the listing above or on the bottom of the list above. We will make every effort to only mail books that meet our highest grading scales. Thereby we will not have our UF or UP books listed on our website!
Please note that we prefer not to mail these conditions out through mail order, as the condition does not necessarily meet our highest expectations! If we wouldn’t want to receive it at our door, we don’t want to mail it to you.
